The Process

May 3, 2026    Campus Pastor Matthew De Leon

In Matthew 4, Jesus enters the wilderness and endures forty days of fasting followed by direct temptation from Satan. This wasn’t a detour—it was the process that prepared Him for His assignment. Without this season of testing, the redemption of humanity would not have unfolded the same way. James 1:2–3 reminds us that trials produce patience, a word that also means endurance, which ultimately points to the idea of process. God uses pressure, waiting, and resistance to shape us into people who can carry His purpose with strength and maturity.

Yet today, many try to bypass the very process that produces lasting success. We want the promise without preparation, the reward without refinement. But anything worth doing—and doing well—requires endurance. If Jesus Himself embraced the wilderness before stepping into His calling, then we must also accept the process God uses to develop us. CHALLENGE: This week, instead of asking God to remove your process, ask Him to reveal what He’s building in you through it. Embrace the wilderness and watch how He strengthens your endurance for what’s ahead.
